چکیده
8 Surface-based models imitate a sequence of depositional events in time. By 9 considering sedimentation processes, these algorithms produce highly realistic 10 subsurface structures from a variety of environments. However, since depositional 11 events are forward-modeled, they cannot be directly conditioned to data. Instead, 12 conditioning requires inferring the right combinations of parameters that match data. 13 Solving such inverse problem is time-consuming and expensive because those models 14 are complex and highly parameterized. In this context, we propose an optimization 15 methodology that enables to fit data efficiently. The key idea behind this method is to 16 decrease the dimensionality of the problem. Three complementary approaches are 17 developed for this purpose. The first approach aims at identifying the leading 18 uncertainty. The second one is a sensitivity analysis on the input parameters. The 19 third one is a re-formulation of the full inverse problem. This methodology is general 20 in the sense that it can be used with any kind of data and environment of deposition. 21 In our work, the efficiency of the methodology is illustrated by using a forward model 22 reproducing lobe structures and a set of borehole data and thickness information 23 extracted from a realistic turbidite reservoir. 24 25

Abstract: In this study, the effects of variation of thickness and the number of quantumwells as well as the contact length were investigated. In this paper, a vertical cavity surfaceemitting laser was simulated using of software based on finite element method. Thenumber of quantum wells was changed from 3 to 9 and the results which are related tooutput power, resonance ...
متن کاملFacies Modeling of Heterogeneous Carbonates Reservoirs by Multiple Point Geostatistics
Facies modeling is an essential part of reservoir characterization. The connectivity of facies model is very critical for the dynamic modeling of reservoirs. Carbonate reservoirs are so heterogeneous that variogram-based methods like sequential indicator simulation are not very useful for facies modeling. In this paper, multiple point geostatistics (MPS) is used for facies modeling in one of th...

متن کاملDeveloping a Novel Temperature Model in Gas Lifted Wells to Enhance the Gas Lift Design
In the continuous gas lift operation, compressed gas is injected into the lower section of tubing through annulus. The produced liquid flow rate is a function of gas injection rate and injection depth. All the equations to determine depth of injection assumes constant density for gas based on an average temperature of surface and bottomhole that decreases the accuracy of gas lift design. Also g...
متن کاملEffects of Finite Layer Thickness on the Differential Capacitance of Electron Bilayers
We have calculated the effects of finite thickness on electron or hole layers in double-quantum-well systems. In particular, we apply our model to calculate the Eisenstein ratio and the interlayer capacitance of a biased bilayer device; these are direct measures of the compressibility of the charge carriers in the layers. We show that our model agrees well with the experimental layer-occupancy ...
